Connect in Community
practice the ways of Jesus together in a group
Journey Communities are spiritual families that gather regularly to learn to practice the ways of Jesus together. Each community has its own unique identity with location and focus.
Groups gather throughout the year in homes and other spaces where people love to connect. With different types of groups meeting at different times and locations, there’s a place for you to find community.
Throughout the year, we also have Group Signup Fairs when new groups begin and established groups with room welcome new people. You can join an open group anytime, but these launch times are especially great if you’re new to groups or looking for a fresh opportunity to get connected.
Scroll through the list of available groups and find the day, location, and type of group that works best for you.
We’d love to help you get connected!

Journey Community Group FAQs:
What kinds of Groups does Journey offer?
Journey Church offers small groups for all stages of adult life. We have groups for men, women, couples, families, young adults, and 20’s.
All Journey Community groups meet to discuss the Bible, generally within homes. We do not have affinity groups organized around activities such as hiking, skiing, etc.
When/Where do Groups meet?
Groups meet throughout the week in various homes in the Gallatin Valley and beyond. If you are looking for a specific area, please email danielle.holm@journeybozeman.com.
How Often Do Groups meet?
Most groups meet weekly for 10-week quarters, though some meet biweekly. The majority of groups take the summer off.
What is the purpose of Groups?
Our groups are meant for discipleship and life transformation. To learn to live out practically what we are learning as followers of Jesus. *They are not social clubs.
What to expect when I show up?
Prayer, Bible reading, and fellowship are key elements in every group. Group Leaders have the freedom to choose study resources from a variety of places, such as the sermon reflection questions or RightNow Media.
How long does it take to feel connected/build community?
There are many factors in feeling connected. Consistency in attendance, as well as vulnerability within the group, will aid connection. Building community takes time and effort, but it is well worth it.
What is the commitment?
We ask you to commit to a group for 10 weeks at a time. This allows time and space to make connections.
What happens if I don’t like it?
If, after 10 weeks, you feel a need to change groups, we will help you find another place to connect.
Can I join more than one?
We recommend trying one group at a time. This creates space for everyone looking for a group and allows deeper relationships to form within that group.
What does it take to lead a group?
You do not have to be a bible scholar or have all the answers, but we do ask that your life reflect Christ. We have a recruitment and training process for potential leaders. If you are interested in learning more, please click here.
I'm new in my faith, where to begin?
We recommend joining the 101 Bible Group or Better than Life-Inductive Bible Study for Women. (make both links). For more information or to talk through other options, email danielle.holm@journeybozeman.com.
Journey Group Schedule - 10 weeks
We have on-site Group Fairs before each 10-week quarterly group session to help you meet and connect with open groups. These Group Fairs take place on January 11, April 12, and September 13 in 2026.
